Topic: Leadership Communication – “Storytelling for Influence”,
by Robert Burnside, Empowr Co.

Leadership is influence — motivating and inspiring others to follow. Your means of doing this is communication. Very simply, influence is the purpose of communication.
Influence is best achieved by following the way in which people are naturally stimulated, that is, through storytelling.

At our June PCC event, Robert Burnside of Empowr Co. will show how how story listening is in our genes, and how to address it by storytelling — how to reach quickly to the unconscious mind of the audience, and move them willingly to where you want them to go.

Robert will show us just what a story is;
where storytelling comes from;
how, why and when storytelling works;
and, then how to find, construct, and deliver powerfully influential stories.

Most of all, Robert will show how to use this storytelling knowledge and skill in a business and leadership context. His clients have used his teachings to acquire & retain clients, build their brand, manage teams, negotiate & resolve conflict, as well as make winning presentations.

Robert’s presentation will be as interactive as possible, so bring along your own case of specific influence challenge and we may be able to work together to find a story to successfully overcome it – This is the usual outcome of Robert’s corporate training and coaching programs. (Please arrive early to be sure Robert has time to examine your case)

Robert Burnside is an executive coach and trainer in leadership communication. He uses storytelling every day in his work, as well as teaching others how to do it. Most of Robert’s clients are major financial companies such as Morgan Stanley, Nikko Citigroup, and American Express Bank. He has also coached both Japanese and Western executives up to CEO level at major companies including the president of Toyoto, Senior EVP of NTT DoCoMo, the CEO of Bosch Japan, and many more. Robert also teaches a business communication program at the International University of Japan (IUJ) MBA program.
